TYPES OF CARDS
An overview of the types player cards found in HUNTED.
HUNTERS
Your Hunter defines your core attributes, starting health and sanity, hand size, and unique abilities. Your choice grants you access to their unique pool of signature cards while allowing you to mix and match up to 2 Disciplines to build your custom Journal.
ACTIONS
Actions are single-use cards played directly from your hand. After playing an action, you immediately resolve its ability, then discard it. Actions can provide a wide variety of benefits, including additional damage, extra card draw, and more.
Contacts are fellow Hunters, acquaintances, and friends who join you on a case. Once played, they provide passive support, and tactical options, while serving as companions who can step in to take a hit on your behalf. Once defeated, they are gone for good.
GEAR
Gear cards are attached to a target in play to provide a benefit or penalty. Gear can grant a variety of different effects such as stat increases, damage reduction, and even new abilities that keep you prepared for whatever threats the encounter deck throws your way.
CONTACTS
unique Disciplines. Infinite Playstyles.
Build Your Journal.
AGGRESSION
Overwhelm threats through direct force, high combat damage, and immediate board clearance. Designed for players who favour high-risk, high-reward plays, this focus trades personal safety and resources for pure, explosive lethality.
PROTECTION
Shield your allies, absorb incoming damage, and push through the most brutal encounters. Perfect for players who want to draw enemy aggression, restore lost health and sanity, and ensure that your team survives no matter what hits them.
CONTROL
Shut down encounters before they happen. Tailored for players who love lockdown and stalling tactics, this playstyle manipulates enemy positioning and cancels negative effects to dictate the pace of the case.
TACTICS
Optimise every action. Built for strategic minds who love engine-building and resource management, this approach keeps you running smoothly and your options open whilst securing the objective.
OCCULT
Bend the game's rules to your will by rearranging unseen threats. Ideal for players who enjoy tricky, unpredictable power, this playstyle offers incredible abilities — if you are willing to pay the price.
BASIC
While not considered a Discipline, these universal options are available to every Hunter. They are ideal for rounding out any build, providing reliable utility and flexible support regardless of which core disciplines you choose to master.
